There are hundreds of metal alloys available for machining. Which one is best for your next project? For material selection, you will need to consider the following factors.

Resistance. If a part is designed to be used in chemicals or extreme environments, the materials used must be able to withstand them. The materials used need to have sufficient corrosion resistance and strength.

Processing. The material of the part should be compatible with the manufacturing process used to make the part. For example, CNC machining is compatible with many metals and plastics, while 3D printing is better suited for different types of plastics.

Exterior. If the purpose of the part is to show appearance or if there is a requirement for part finish, you will need to choose a material with these qualities, or consider the time and cost involved in post-processing.

Cost and Availability. Depending on the size of your project, cost and time may also be important factors for you to consider. Lower budgets will require lower-cost materials, and tighter deadlines will require faster processing methods.

MFG HUBS has most of the commonly used metal and plastic materials, and our material suppliers are distributors of big brand materials. We can provide corresponding material certificates if you need. Please feel free to contact us to get a fast quote.
